• J1/2 Sally Davis Award Information for '12

Jr I-II Sally Davis Scholar/Athlete Award Information for 2012

This annual award is presented to those racers who

  •  1) maintain a 90 average Spring '11 and Fall '11 and
  • 2) qualify to 2012 NYSSRA NYS Sr, J1-2 State Championships

If your athlete meets these criteria please send their school transcripts for the 2 semesters listed above to: Mark Bright, 4861 Hillview Cr, Manlius NY 13104. Mark’s phone number is 315.434.8880 if you have further questions.

It's very important that you process this by Wed Feb 15th. Awards will be given out Feb 25th at NYSSRA J1-2 Awards Ceremony at the NYSEF Training Center.

 • Friday January 27th NYSSRA News Roundup - We have 2 changes in 2 Age schedules. Please read carefully and share with your ski racing friends.

  • J1/2 Schedule Change - Due to weather, today's SG at Gore has been postponed until next Friday Feb 3 also at Gore. This SG will remain an ECS qualifier. 

If you are looking for a refund from Friday's postponed SG - All those athletes who registered by Alpine Reg (on-line) for Jan. 27th race have had a refund posted.  The credit will appear on their credit card later. 

If anyone wishes to enter the Feb 3 J1/2 SG ECS qualifier race, they must re-register on Alpine Reg or fill out an entry and leave it at the training center this weekend.  

  • J3 Schedule Change - For J3 State Championships the first 2 days of SG will now be held at Gore. GS and SL will be at West Mtn. More information will be emailed to you soon.

• Our Goals as a Community - Please practice the following during our season: Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility and Sportsmanship.

Please clean up after yourself and others in the lodge. Thank the volunteers, lift attendants, ski areas folks, your parents. Support and encourage other racers and their families. Be kind to our environment.

Many work very hard to facilitate your race season. We are all part of a team and we need to support one another.

For those of you who have not yet done so and plan to purchase a FIS license to be eligible for consideration to the Eastern FIS Jr Championships NYSSRA Team - 

To be considered for this FIS selection you need to have joined FIS by Jan 23, 2012.

• NYSSRA/Council On-Snow Clinics - Cost for clinics are $10/day. Please bring $10 with you to registration.

• Information Gathering for J3 & 4 Athletes - USSA East and NYSSRA will be assessing the results of our Skills Drills participants on an ongoing basis. In order to help with organizing and understanding the data we have added two categories, height and weight, to the NYSSRA Membership Form for for these age groups. That will give the research more validity. Thanks for helping us to continue to improve our development structure.

• NYSSRA Membership 2011-2012 Season - NYSSRA Membership for next year is open.  September is a perfect time to process your membership. Access Active.com via this Home Page or print and send the paper version found on this site.

• USSA Membership - Reminder to our J3 category athletes - Register with USSA as a 'Competitor'. If you are born 1999 or later register as a 'Youth Competitor'.

You do not want to register as 'Non-Scored Student' because you will not be eligible to have access to the 'Development Pipeline'. In NYSSRA you would not be able to qualify from one race series to another.
